Kurdistan’s Oil & Gas Sector Reports

These are comprehensive risk assessment reports, each running to 70–80 pages of original, on-the-ground research into the block’s political, security, and operational landscape. Each report includes detailed stakeholder mapping, political risk and asset appraisals, an operational overview, and an assessment of corporate social responsibility (CSR) considerations, underpinned by extensive on-the-ground mapping of locations, communities, and stakeholders across the block. Sample reports are available to download below — if you require the full report, contact us for more information. For background on oil trading and gas infrastructure risk across the region, see our article on Kurdistan Region oil and gas trading and infrastructure.

Gwer-Hamdaniya Block

The Gwer-Hamdaniya Block lies in territory disputed between the federal government in Baghdad and the Kurdistan Regional Government, an area the KRG lost operational control of in 2017. It is home to Christian, Shabak, Kakai, and Arab communities, and its post-conflict security landscape remains shaped by competing armed actors. Our report maps these stakeholders and assesses the block’s distinct political and security risk profile.
